For land-based kite traction and all-around fun, the Prism Tensor 4.2 is the most versatile wing we carry, with the widest wind range of Prism's three Tensor models. The Tensor 4.2 flies easily in as little as 2 mph winds, produces usable power from about 8 mph, and really starts to crank in 12 mph or more. If you could only have one kite, the Prism Tensor 4.2 is the kite you would want.
Engineered as a bit more than just a trainer kite, the Prism Tensor 4.2 makes it simple and safe to get into power kiting with a dual-line control bar, safety leash with quick-release capability, all set up and ready to fly. But once you've learned basic kite control, Prism's innovative convertible bar system transforms into rugged quad kite handles for the extra control and maneuverability you need to take on traction sports like buggying, snow kiting and landboarding without spending a fortune on traction kiting gear.
Simply separate the bar at the machined aluminum center joint and insert two end-fittings to make quad kite handles. Kite Killers for quad kite mode are pre-installed, so just re-attach the brakelines and you're ready to ride. Quad kite handles allow sensitive control to generate maximum power from the wind, and can be used with a line between the top ends for use with a harness. In either mode, the Prism Tensor 4.2's medium aspect wing is powerful but forgiving, with a smooth acceleration that doesn't bite, and confident edge performance that won't collapse like high-aspect race kites.
With all lines pre-attached and ready to fly, the Prism Tensor 4.2 package includes everything you need for serious fun in a rugged and stylish carry-pack with extra room for a second kite or accessories. Color-coded lines, handles and pigtails make setup and adjustment easy, and the multiple safety systems mean you can kill all power on the kite instantly just by letting go of the bar or handles. In a real emergency, the control bar quick-release lets you jettison both the kite and bar altogether.
Built to paraglider standards from silicone coated nylon, the Prism Tensor 4.2 wing includes reinforced inlets, dirt-outs to easily remove sand from the cells, and stitched Dyneema bridles to reduce snags and hold optimum wing shape under load. The Prism "Power Trim" system allows 3 easy bridle settings to adjust power and performance in different winds. The Tensor 4.2's flying lines are precision-measured stretched Modulus Spectra for quick response and a long, prosperous life.
Also included, a stainless steel kite stake (with sheath included) to secure the kite, and a comprehensive, well-illustrated Prism Tensor 4.2 flight manual that will get you up and flying with the Prism's Tensor 4.2 quickly and safely.
